ONLINE PUBLIC NOTICE

FAST Planning 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Update

30-Day Public Comment Period

November 20 - December 20, 2022

The Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Update is available for public review. The MTP is the federally required 20-year long-range plan that is updated regularly to comply with the “continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive” planning process. The MTP lays out the long-range vision for the transportation system in the urbanized area of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, including Fairbanks and North Pole. This plan guides the transportation network improvements for motor vehicles, transit, pedestrians, bicyclists, and freight users. To view this plan, go to https://fastplanning.us/mtpupdate/

The FAST Planning public hearing requirements agree to use the TIP development process to satisfy the public hearing requirements of Section 5307(c). The public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment on the TIP will satisfy the program-of-projects requirements of the Urbanized Area Formula Program. See 23 C.F.R. Part 450 and 49 C.F.R. Part 613 (specifically Subpart B, “Statewide Transportation Planning,” and Subpart C, “Metropolitan Transportation Planning and Programming”). The public involvement process is described at 23 C.F.R. Section 450.316(b). FAST Planning complies with the AKDOT&PF Title VI Nondiscrimination Policy, and operates Federal Programs without regard to race, religion, color, gender, age, marital status, ability, or national origin. To view the full Title VI Nondiscrimination Policy or to file a complaint, go to: https://fastplanning.us/docs/civilrights/. Individuals with disabilities who may need auxiliary aids, services, and/or special modifications to participate in this public meeting should contact Jackson Fox at (907) 205-4276 or email: jackson.fox@fastplanning.us.
